I’m heading “up the hill” (we live in the foothills of the mountains) to participate in a conversation with our confirmation kids who are on their confirmation retreat. This is the invitation, “You will be invited to share some of your faith journey, how you came to be a member of First Presbyterian Church, and a little bit about how both the church and your faith has influenced your life.  It will be an opportunity for our youth to hear from others how God speaks to us, sometimes differently, and how we find a wide variety of ways to live out God’s calling.” I was a little surprised that Computerguy wanted to go (something about checking out the mayor’s cabin, but he would have participated in the conversation, too, which would have been fascinating for me), but someone has to stay with the kids. Anyway, I look forward to talking with the kids. I miss conversations-with-high-schoolers. (On a side note, one of them lives in walking distance to our house and it would be nice to get to know her well enough to maybe ask her to do some cat-sitting/babysitting.)
