For the first time I understand the feeling when a blogger doesn’t want to recreate a lost post. ::sigh:: Computerguy likened it to the early days of browsers when webmail would eat email messages.
We’ve had a fun time in Minneapolis. It’s a pretty great town to explore with kids. We spent two afternoons in the Minneapolis Children’s Museum. Bubble liked the Habitot toddler room best which was nice since it also worked so well for Squeak, but she got interested in some of the other areas, too. The balance room was probably her second favorite.
We spent yesterday afternoon at the sculpture garden. In my ongoing annual quest for the perfect Christmas card photo, we tried taking a family photo in front of the big spoon and cherry sculpture. Computerguy thinks it ended up being too far away to see our faces. It’s so hard to get a good picture with a toddler and a preschooler and two self-conscious grown-ups.
We’ve eaten well. Shucks, it’s the Midwest. Of course we’ve eaten well.
We spent the 4th of July evening with the Presbyterians. The General Assembly is happening right here in Minneapolis while we happened to be here. Because we were here, it made me more interested in the GA and what was happening. I’ve been following Twitter. It’s given me a lot to think about, but I think I’ll make it its own post.
I should go to bed. We head south to Iowa tomorrow. It’s been nice being just our little family of four for a few days, but it will also be nice to have Grandma and Grandpa around to help with the kids and give us a bit of a break. And I look forward to seeing the rest of the family, too. We’ve seen each other more often in the last 7 or 8 years (since Grandpa moved to New Mexico and our folks moved to Arizona) than we ever had before, but it still isn’t too often.
